We have the same wood fireplace here in CA. Just curious, do you have any smoke problems (smoke coming into your home) with your fp??? We do & have had alot of work done on it. Everytime the chimney guy comes, I'm not sure he's really doing what he tells us we really need.... Thanks..hope you reply.
