October Happenings

My families October happenings consisted of ~
1. We visited the Mark Twain House for a haunted ghost tour. Although we didn't see any ghosts or hear them, it was fun to hear the ghost stories about the house and to be in the Mark Twain house at night.
The Mark Twain House is a beautiful historic home, whether haunted or not. The solarium, the place where Mark Twain gave his children elephant rides, is my favorite.
Mark Twain was a believer of the paranormal and an avid story teller. I can only imagine he could tell a mean ghost story. If you are ever in or around Hartford, Connecticut I suggest you pay the Mark Twain House a visit - even if it's not October.

2. We visited Pumpkintown USA.
It's a great place to visit with the kids. They have wonderful scenes full of pumpkin people doing crazy pumpkin things.
Odyn's favorite was the baby pumpkin in the baby carriage. He had to keep checking on the pumpkin baby making sure she was ok.
They have great little buildings that you can sneak into when the fall weather is a little chilly or you may have children like mine that don't notice the chill.
They have fun hay mazes, that some can barely see over, and bouncing tubes that make your hair stand up.
And who can resist face cut outs for picture taking?!?!
The kids had a GREAT time here and it was a fun day!

3. The last thing we did was we went Trick-Or- Treating!!!! Aries favorite holiday, mostly because she is a candy monster.
We had one scary 7 year old zombie who was very messy to clean up after the night was through.
The candy monster decided to be just Tinkerbell, since a Tinkerbell zombie was not very pretty. A small warning ~ make sure to not share a step with this Tinkerbell on Halloween, like some other children did, or she will tell you that you ruined her life.
Lastly there was chicken. He rode in stroller style, kicked off his shoe (literally), and didn't get much candy. Chicken now has one shoe and will forever remember what feathers taste like.

We hope your October was full of wonder happenings like ours was :) cause here comes chilly November!

This all looks like so much fun!
I really wanted to find a good haunted house last night, but I was working late, so I just headed home.

Halloween is such a fun holiday!

Hugs,
Anne
