Just One Thought

Lately I like to think of myself as a cute bunny just burrowing myself into my little hole. Watching the news and trying to explain to my children what is going on in Japan is breaking my heart.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan and their families. I have been thinking lately what I can do to help. So many times we often think of giving money as the answer but I would like to help donate a little bit of sunshine. Maybe a lovely quilt, some non-perishable food, or even make an extra effort to give blood right now.  So lets spread some cheer - Any thoughts on a way to help or is there someway I can help with any relief efforts already in place?

I know, it's all so overwhelming it's hard to think of what to do. I have been looking at Sarah London's site and she is hosting 'Crochet a Rainbow' where you send in crochet squares and then they're all joined into blankets. They have been used to help victims of the Australian floods, the Christchurch earthquake and now also Japan.
Here's the link http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/crochet-a-rainbow/.
I think it's something I personally would like to do. Just an idea for you Amanda.

It is so hard to take in, really unbelievable and only seems to be getting worse.
I'd sent one parcel to Sarah and when I was ready to send my second I noticed she had added Japan to the appeal and she also mentions another blogger who is running an auction to raise funds http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2011/03/14/to-japan-with-love/
If everyone does a little bit to help that will make a tremendous difference but most importantley the people of Japan will know others do care and are thinking of them.

I'm feeling it too. My coping skills are to keep busy, act silly, and I'm also looking for the best way I can help. http://www.etsy.com/teams/7716/announcements/discuss/6814895/
I'm sharing this Etsy forum link, but you may have already seen it.
