Finished staining the fireplace mantel to a nice rich dark walnut color yesterday.
My reward this morning was being able to decorate it for the season.

Love your mantel! Not only are all of the fall decor pieces great, but your black brick in your fireplace is so lovely!
We have the same wood fireplace here in CA. Just curious, do you have any smoke problems (smoke coming into your home) with your fp??? We do & have had alot of work done on it. Everytime the chimney guy comes, I'm not sure he's really doing what he tells us we really need....
